The Board of Investments (BOI) has highlighted the Philippines tax and fiscal incentives to potential American investors in the areas of aerospace, defense and security.
The BOI joined the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center and the Department of National Defense (DND) during the 2025 Aerospace, Defense, and Security (ADS) Mission to the Philippines where the agencies presented the country’s Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP) Revitalization Program to the American firms.
Hosted by the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), the two-day mission brought 26 leading U.S. aerospace and defense companies to Manila to deepen strategic engagement with Philippine counterparts.
Notably, the program focused on opportunities for co-production, joint development, technology transfers, and workforce development in areas such as defense systems, dual-use technologies, and cyber capabilities.
BOI Industry Development Services (IDS) Executive Director Ma. Corazon Halili-Dichosa highlighted the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives available to foreign defense firms under the SRDP Law. She also emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a conducive investment environment that fosters long-term collaboration.
Beyond attracting investments, Dichosa said that BOI coordinates with industry stakeholders to implement projects and programs such as workforce development that would build the capabilities of our local defense industry, fostering innovation, and enhancing the overall defense ecosystem.
The development of a local defense industry is a priority of the government, as proven by the enactment of the SRDP Revitalization Act, which provides for direct benefits to enterprises engaged in SRDP projects, including fiscal incentives, tax exemptions, procurement preference, a waiver of the “Single Largest Completed Contract” requirement, and focus on technology transfer.
“The BOI stands ready to provide assistance and investment facilitation to support your investment interest in the Philippines,” she added.
DND Undersecretary Rene Diaz led the discussion, pointing out the overarching objectives of the program and development goals.
Meanwhile, PPP Center Executive Director Eleazar Ricote underscored the role of public-private partnerships in advancing national security and economic resilience.
Under the theme “Strengthening Philippine-U.S. Aerospace, Defense, and Security Ties: Advancing Innovation and Strategic Resilience in the Indo-Pacific Region,” the mission also explored opportunities in civil aviation, disaster resilience, and the broader role of the ADS sector in driving inclusive growth.
Furthermore, the BOI reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating investments that not only advance the Philippines’ defense and security priorities but also generate high-value jobs and support sustainable industrial development.
