MPCALA Holdings fast-tracks CALAX completion with new construction agreements

MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MHI), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) and the concessionaire of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), has signed agreements with leading construction firms EEI Corporation and CM Pancho Construction, Inc. (CMPCI) to accelerate the final phases of the CALAX project. This partnership marks a significant stride toward completing the expressway’s full alignment, promising to enhance connectivity and mobility for motorists across the Cavite and Laguna provinces.

Project Scope and Contractor Assignments

Under the new agreements, EEI Corporation will take charge of the construction for Subsection 1, which stretches from Open Canal to Kawit. Concurrently, CMPCI will handle Subsection 2, covering the segment from Governor’s Drive to Open Canal. These strategic assignments are designed to expedite the remaining construction work, bringing the 45-kilometer expressway closer to its full operational status.

Progress and Future Outlook

CALAX currently has operational segments at the Laguna Technopark, Laguna Blvd., Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, and Silang Aguinaldo Interchange. The remaining subsections, including Subsection 3 (Silang Aguinaldo to Governor’s Drive), are already under active development and are projected to be completed in the first half of 2026. The completion of these final sections will provide motorists with a seamless, high-speed alternative to local roads, significantly reducing travel time between Cavite and Laguna.

The completion of the full CALAX alignment is expected to stimulate economic growth in the region by facilitating the transport of goods and people, supporting local tourism, and providing a more efficient route for daily commuters. MHI and MPTC remain committed to delivering this vital infrastructure project, which is a key component of the country’s broader transportation network.
