President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. celebrated the country’s most dedicated and resilient farmers, organizations, and communities at the Gawad Agraryo 2025 ceremony on Friday. The event, held at the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center, recognized their vital role in ensuring the nation’s food security and strengthening rural communities.
In his speech, President Marcos praised the awardees for their unwavering determination, calling them models of hope for the entire nation. “In the face of adversity, they bravely persevered—and now, they serve as living proof that with hard work, no dream is beyond reach,” the President stated.
The ceremony honored 17 awardees chosen from 45 finalists, including 10 Most Outstanding Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), three Most Progressive ARB Organizations (ARBOs), and four Most Progressive Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs).
The outstanding ARBs each received a plaque, a medal, and a PhP25,000 cash award in recognition of their productivity and commitment to their communities. The most progressive ARBOs and ARCs were also celebrated for their leadership in promoting sustainable development and providing essential services to their members. They each received a plaque, a medal, and valuable projects worth PhP70,000.
President Marcos also highlighted his administration’s ongoing commitment to supporting Filipino farmers. He noted the recent distribution of nearly 70,000 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) and thousands of Certificates of Condonation, which have helped free farmers from debt. The government has also provided thousands of pieces of machinery and farming equipment to increase productivity and improve livelihoods.
Established in 2008, the Gawad Agraryo honors individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to advancing rural and national progress. Under his term, President Marcos has recognized 35 individuals and organizations with this prestigious award.
