PAL expands Cebu hub with new routes and more flights

Philippine Airlines (PAL), the nation’s flag carrier, is significantly expanding its flight network from Cebu, launching a new route and increasing frequencies on several key domestic and international services. The move reinforces PAL’s commitment to developing Cebu as a major strategic hub for the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

New Cebu-Calbayog Service

Effective October 26, 2025, PAL will introduce a new direct route between Cebu and Calbayog. The new service will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, providing travelers from Eastern Visayas with a convenient, direct link to Visayas and Mindanao.

The launch of our Cebu-Calbayog route is a milestone in our mission to empower regional gateways like Cebu,” said Rabbi Vincent Ang, President of PAL Express. “This new service will provide travelers from Eastern Visayas direct access to Visayas and Mindanao, enhancing connectivity and convenience. We’re investing in Cebu as a strategic hub to help drive tourism and economic growth across the region.”

The flight schedule for the new service is as follows:

PR 2668: Cebu to Calbayog, departing Cebu at 7:30 a.m. and arriving in Calbayog at 8:35 a.m.

PR 2669: Calbayog to Cebu, departing Calbayog at 8:55 a.m. and arriving in Cebu at 10:00 a.m.

Increased Domestic Frequencies

In addition to the new route, PAL is boosting flight frequencies on several of its most popular domestic routes from Cebu, making it easier for travelers to access prime destinations without having to transit through Manila.

Cebu-Siargao and Cebu-Busuanga (Coron): Flights will increase to thrice daily for each route.

Cebu-Bacolod: Increasing from 14 to 18 flights weekly.

Cebu-Butuan: Increasing from 7 to 11 flights weekly.

Cebu-Cotabato: Increasing from 2 to 3 flights weekly.

Cebu-Ozamiz: Increasing from 3 to 4 flights weekly.

Cebu-Tacloban: Increasing from 11 to 14 flights weekly.

Growing Regional Connectivity

PAL also maintains a strong regional presence from its Cebu hub, with direct flights to key international cities, including Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Seoul (Incheon), Tokyo (Narita), and Osaka (Kansai). These enhancements underscore PAL’s commitment to boosting connectivity and positioning Cebu as a true gateway to the Visayas, Mindanao, and beyond.
