Jetstar launches two new direct routes to Manila and Cebu, unlocking over 108,000 low-fare seats annually

Jetstar is significantly expanding its international network and strengthening connections between Australia and the Philippines with the launch of two new direct routes set to take off later this year. The low-cost carrier will introduce year-round flights from Perth to Manila and seasonal services from Brisbane to Cebu, adding more than 108,000 low-fare seats annually.

The new services, pending regulatory approval, will operate three times a week using Jetstar’s new, fuel-efficient Airbus A321LR aircraft.

New Route Details

Route Service Type Launch Date Frequency Aircraft
Perth (PER) to Manila (MNL) Year-Round 27 November 2025 Three times weekly Airbus A321LR
Brisbane (BNE) to Cebu (CEB) Seasonal 3 December 2025 Three times weekly Airbus A321LR

The Brisbane-Cebu route marks a significant milestone, providing the first and only direct link between Australia and Cebu, the Philippines’ second-largest city and a gateway to its famous tropical islands and resorts.

Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully, said the new routes highlight the airline’s continued growth and commitment to offering low-fare travel to popular Asian destinations.

“The launch of low-fare, direct flights to the Philippines is an exciting milestone, unlocking two amazing destinations for Aussie travellers,” Ms. Tully said. “From the pristine beaches of Cebu to the vibrant energy of Manila, these new routes offer greater value options for an overseas holiday. Just as importantly, we’re opening up new opportunities for Filipinos to travel, reunite with family, and grow tourism and trade between our countries.”

Brisbane Airport Corporation CEO, Gert-Jan de Graaff, welcomed the Brisbane to Cebu service. “Queenslanders love discovering new destinations, and Cebu delivers with stunning islands, rich Spanish colonial history, and vibrant food culture,” he said. “This new route not only provides the only direct link between Australia and Cebu, but it also deepens connections for Queensland’s large Filipino community and further supports our state’s trade and tourism links with Asia.”

The thrice-weekly services will operate on the following days:

  • Perth to Manila (JQ81/JQ80): Flights depart Perth on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
  • Brisbane to Cebu (JQ101/JQ100): Flights depart Brisbane on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The seasonal service is scheduled to operate until May 16, 2026.

The new routes form part of Jetstar’s broader expansion strategy in the Asia-Pacific region, which has seen the airline launch or announce 20 new domestic and international routes since June 2024. This growth is being powered by the airline’s investment in its new-generation fleet of Airbus A321LR aircraft, which offer greater range, lower fuel burn, and a more comfortable experience for passengers.

To celebrate the launch, Jetstar is offering special introductory sale fares. Bookings are available now at jetstar.com.
