The Land Transportation Office (LTO), under the leadership of LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, successfully conducted a comprehensive Retooling/Reorientation Deputation Training Workshop to boost the capability of Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) from the Department of Transportation’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee on Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
Held on September 29–30, 2025, at the LTO Road Safety Interactive Center (RSIC) in the Central Office, Quezon City, the two-day workshop was a crucial step in ensuring synchronized and updated enforcement of land transportation laws across cooperating agencies.
The intensive curriculum provided participants with in-depth sessions on fundamental road safety concepts, updated law enforcement procedures, and technical protocols for vehicle impoundment and confiscation. Critical updates were also delivered on recent landmark legislation, including R.A. No. 11697 (Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act, or EVIDA Law) and R.A. No. 11698 (Vintage Vehicle Regulation Act).
A core component of the program focused on the highest standards of professional conduct. The sessions strongly emphasized the proper decorum, right values, attitude, and behavior expected of all deputized LEOs, ensuring officers are equipped to serve the public with professionalism and discipline. Participants engaged in practical exercises, diagnostic assessments, and extensive Q&A sessions designed to immediately strengthen their real-world enforcement capabilities.
The workshop was facilitated by the LTO’s Traffic Safety Division, headed by Acting Chief Danilo J. Encela, through the Traffic Safety Training and Advocacy Section, led by Ms. Beverly C. Sabela.
This initiative underscores the LTO’s unwavering commitment to upholding national road safety, ensuring law enforcement excellence, and promoting discipline among all officers tasked with securing the country’s transportation system.
