DOT Secretary Frasco joins Enchanted Kingdom for relaunch of “AGILA the EKsperience”

The Department of Tourism (DOT) cemented its commitment to promoting the Philippines’ natural and cultural heritage as Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco joined the grand relaunch of Enchanted Kingdom’s (EK) “AGILA the EKsperience” on the theme park’s 30th Anniversary, October 18.

“AGILA the EKsperience,” the first and only flying theater in the Philippines, reopened with a new theme, “Saribuhay,” which celebrates the natural beauty, rich culture, and incredible biodiversity of the country’s top tourist destinations. The immersive, multisensory ride not only provides viewers with a breathtaking journey across the archipelago but also stands as a potent tourism showcase for the Philippines.

Secretary Frasco highlighted the ride’s significance for both tourism and environmental advocacy. “With the launch of the Agila EKsperience today, we will be given a newfound appreciation for our mega biodiversity in the Philippines and it also gives, especially our youth, the encouragement to have a perspective of sustainability — how important it is to care for our environment,” she stated after personally experiencing the attraction. “So this is very meaningful as it is a joyful new ride for Enchanted Kingdom.”

The relaunch ceremony, which coincided with the celebration of the park’s three decades of operation, was attended by key government and theme park officials. Secretary Frasco was joined by EK President Cesar Mario Mamon, EK Chief Operating Officer Cynthia Mamon, Laguna Governor Sol Aragones, and Sta. Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas.

The DOT delegation included Usec. María Rica Bueno, Usec. Ferdinand Jumapao, Assistant Secretaries Sharlene Batin, Ina Zara-Loyola, and Ronald Conopio, DOT-IVA Regional Director Maritess Castro, and Director Alven Talisic. The milestone event also drew the presence of foreign delegates from international amusement parks and suppliers.

The relaunch of “AGILA the EKsperience” marks a collaborative effort between the private sector and the government to leverage innovative attractions in promoting Filipino culture, heritage, and unique natural treasures to both local and international visitors.
