Pres. Marcos Jr. reaffirms commitment to affordable, resilient housing at National Housing Expo 2025

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday underscored his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that every Filipino family has access to a safe, decent, and affordable home.

The President made the assurance while leading the opening of the two-day National Housing Expo 2025 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, which he hailed as a vital platform showcasing the successful collaboration between the government, the private sector, and housing agencies.

“The Expo is a testament to the fruit of cooperation among the government, the private sector, and our housing agencies,” President Marcos stated.

President Marcos highlighted ongoing efforts to expand housing programs, streamline processes, and deepen support for the country’s housing sector. He noted that the expo offers a wide range of services, from home design and planning to financial assistance and housing loan processing.

A key focus of the administration is the Green Lane Program, which promotes the construction of climate-resilient homes designed to withstand the impacts of changing weather conditions.

The Chief Executive also lauded the Pag-IBIG Fund as one of the government’s strongest and most reliable partners. He reported significant achievements through the agency this year alone:

  • Over 57,000 members were enabled to move into their own homes or finance home improvements.
  • Nearly PhP75 billion in cash loans were released, benefiting approximately three million members and addressing immediate financial needs.

Under the expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program, more Filipinos are gaining access to affordable housing assistance. President Marcos emphasized that Pag-IBIG Fund offers housing loans with interest rates as low as three percent per annum for low-income earners, a benefit also extended to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Additionally, beneficiaries and graduates of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) are now eligible under the expanded 4PH initiative.

In celebration of National Shelter Month, the President announced the upcoming awarding of Notices of Approval and that those who received Certificates of Entitlement through Presidential Proclamations in areas like Los Baños, Laguna; Lucena City; Iloilo City; and Caloocan City can now finally claim ownership of the land they occupy.

“These are just some of the proofs that a dream, when coupled with perseverance and support from the government, the private sector, and all sectors of our society, can become a reality,” the President affirmed.

President Marcos expressed his gratitude to the private sector, developers, financial institutions, and the entire housing sector for their continued partnership, concluding, “May we further strengthen our service so that we can help more of our fellow Filipinos.”
