CAAP implements heightened alert status nationwide amid expected 5.8 million Undas passenger surge

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has raised the alert status across all airports nationwide in preparation for the annual passenger surge associated with Undas 2025. This proactive measure is set for implementation from October 30 to November 4, 2025, ensuring the safety and efficiency of air travel during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

This initiative is a critical component of the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Undas 2025,” aligning with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez to guarantee seamless and secure airport operations.

CAAP is expecting at least 5.8 million passengers to travel through its airports during the broader October to November period, marking a significant 7 to 10 percent increase from the 4.8 million recorded in 2024.

To manage the high volume and uphold the highest standards of safety, CAAP is deploying comprehensive measures:

Malasakit Help Desks have been activated at all airports to provide immediate assistance and address traveler concerns.

Security Personnel remain on heightened alert status to maintain strict order and ensure passenger safety throughout the terminals and perimeters.

Medical Teams are on standby to provide rapid response and immediate assistance in case of any emergencies.

CAAP is intensifying coordination with essential partner agencies, including the PNP-Aviation Security Unit (AVSEU), the Office of Transportation Security (OTS), the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), and airline carriers, to facilitate the efficient processing of passengers, particularly at high-traffic check-in counters.

CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario stated, “We have directed all Area Managers to prepare for and strictly implement the necessary safety and security measures during the expected passenger surge this Undas, to ensure smooth operations and passenger convenience. Our priority is a safe and hassle-free travel experience for every Filipino traveler.”

Passengers are strongly reminded that preparedness, awareness, and strict adherence to safety guidelines are essential for a smooth journey during this peak travel season.
