Philippine Coast Guard monitors over 21,000 passengers nationwide in early morning Undas rush

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has successfully monitored and processed a total of 21,098 passengers nationwide during the critical early morning hours of Undas 2025. This activity underscores the PCG’s commitment to maritime safety and security (MARSS) as Filipinos travel to observe All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

From 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM on 02 November 2025, PCG reports indicated that 10,772 passengers departed various ports across the country, while 10,326 passengers arrived at their destinations.

To manage this significant volume and ensure the safety of the seafaring public, the PCG has mobilized 5,243 frontline personnel from its 16 PCG Districts. This comprehensive deployment has facilitated rigorous inspection and safety checks on 157 vessels and 26 motorbancas, totaling 183 maritime conveyances, to guarantee seaworthiness and compliance with safety standards before departure.

The heightened operational tempo is a direct response to the anticipated surge in passenger volume for the long Undas holiday period. All PCG districts, stations, and sub-stations remain on Heightened Alert status, a directive that began on 30 October and will run until 04 November 2025. This alert status ensures immediate response capabilities for any maritime incident, security threat, or medical emergency.

The PCG reminds the public to cooperate with security and safety protocols implemented in all ports.

For inquiries, concerns, or clarifications regarding sea travel protocols and regulations, the seafaring public may coordinate with the PCG through its official Facebook page or contact the Coast Guard Public Affairs Service (CGPAS) at 0927-560-7729.
