DMW welcomes 29 new personnel as Sec. Cacdac stresses innovation and compassionate service

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) today marked a significant step in strengthening its institutional capacity as Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac administered the Oath of Office to twenty-nine newly appointed and promoted employees at the DMW Central Office.

Secretary Cacdac highlighted that the infusion of new talent and the advancement of experienced personnel are crucial components of the Department’s ongoing drive to enhance service efficiency and responsiveness. He expressed strong confidence that this new batch of dedicated public servants will inject fresh perspectives and innovative approaches necessary to meet the evolving needs of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.

“Today is not just about a formal oath; it is about pledging a commitment to transformative public service,” said Secretary Cacdac. “We welcome these 29 individuals, whom we expect to bring about positive changes and innovations that will streamline our operations and deliver services with greater speed and efficiency.”

The group comprised new appointees entering the DMW workforce and employees moving into higher, more critical positions. Reflecting the Department’s modern operational structure, six (6) employees took their oath in person at the DMW Central Office, while twenty-three (23) participated virtually, underscoring the DMW’s capability to manage essential functions through hybrid platforms.

In his address, the Secretary reiterated the foundational values that must guide their work: honesty, empathy, integrity, and a commitment to working beyond the call of duty. He underscored that these qualities are indispensable in their mandate to serve a vulnerable yet vital sector of the Filipino population.

Secretary Cacdac also emphasized the DMW’s paramount responsibility—providing comprehensive protection and unwavering support for the welfare of every OFW and their families, in direct accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. The President has consistently emphasized the welfare of OFWs as a top national priority, positioning the DMW’s work at the forefront of national policy.

This latest round of appointments and promotions is part of the DMW’s strategic human resource development plan aimed at ensuring the Department is fully equipped to protect the rights and promote the welfare of OFWs globally.
