Sea travel suspended across multiple ports due to severe Tropical Storm Tino

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) advises the public that numerous sea voyages have been automatically cancelled or suspended across various ports in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, effective 6:00 PM today, November 3, 2025, due to the imminent threat posed by Severe Tropical Storm Tino.

The cancellations are in strict compliance with the “No Sail Policy” issued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), as severe weather conditions render sea travel extremely perilous. The storm, which is rapidly intensifying and forecast to make landfall soon, is bringing destructive winds and a high risk of life-threatening storm surges to coastal areas.

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) does not independently cancel vessel trips. Cancellations are automatic when the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) enforces the “No Sail Policy” due to adverse weather, or when shipping lines cancel trips in compliance with their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) terms issued by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA). The safety of all passengers and maritime personnel remains the utmost priority.

Advisory to Passengers and Shipping Lines
  1. Revalidation and Refunds: Affected passengers are strongly advised to coordinate directly with their respective shipping lines regarding the revalidation of tickets, rebooking, or refund options.
  2. Monitor Official Advisories: The public is urged to closely monitor updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and local government units for continuous updates on weather conditions and sea travel advisories.
  3. Safety First: Do not proceed to the ports. Stay in safe areas and adhere to all local government and disaster management advisories.

PPA assures the public that normal port operations and sailing schedules will resume immediately upon the lifting of the “No Sail Policy” by the PCG and when weather conditions are deemed safe for all vessels.
