The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Port Management Office (PMO) Batangas confirms that all sea travel has been temporarily suspended today, November 4, 2025, due to the severe weather conditions and strong winds brought by Typhoon Tino. This measure is a non-negotiable decision to ensure the safety of passengers and maritime vessels.
While sailing operations have ceased, the Batangas Port remains physically open and fully operational as a secure, temporary shelter and assistance center. PPA Batangas personnel are on continuous standby, executing established safety protocols and ensuring the comfort of all passengers affected by the trip cancellations.
Passenger Assistance and Logistics
The PPA is taking active measures to support stranded passengers currently seeking refuge at the port terminal:
- Humanitarian Aid: PPA teams are actively distributing food packs and essential supplies to affected individuals to mitigate the discomfort of unexpected delays.
- Port Access: The New Gate and Main Gate remain open for regulated pedestrian and vehicular entry and exit. The Middle Gate is strictly secured and reserved exclusively as the Emergency Gate for the rapid access of emergency vehicles and vital operational needs.
- Safety Notice: Clear, visible notices stating, “All trips are canceled due to typhoon,” are displayed across all gate access points and terminal areas to prevent confusion.
Official Communication and Misinformation Alert
PMO Batangas Port Manager, Mr. Donato R. Sison, urged the public to exercise caution regarding unverified reports.
“Our teams are committed to the safety and comfort of every passenger. While we understand the frustration of travel delays, the decision to cancel trips is non-negotiable when lives are at stake,” Mr. Sison stated. “We will continue to distribute aid and keep the public informed through official channels. We strongly urge everyone to disregard and stop the circulation of fake news regarding port operations. Please rely solely on official announcements and verified social media pages of the Philippine Ports Authority for accurate, real-time updates.”
The PPA will immediately issue a subsequent advisory once the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) declares that sea conditions have stabilized and vessel movement is safe to resume.
