Kamuning Footbridge construction enters critical phase, temporary busway station closures scheduled

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) today announced a critical milestone in the Kamuning Footbridge construction, with the project now moving into the heavy lifting and steel component mobilization phase.

To safely execute the installation of large steel components, temporary, full road closures will be implemented at specific hours along the EDSA Busway near the Kamuning Station. These temporary closures will require EDSA Busway buses to temporarily skip the Kamuning Station in the affected direction.

The closures are scheduled during the early morning hours to minimize disruption to peak-hour traffic and commuter flow:

Direction Dates of Full Road Closure Time of Closure Busway Station Impact
Northbound November 15 – 17, 2025 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM Buses will skip the Northbound platform at Kamuning Station.
Southbound December 11 – 15, 2025 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM Buses will skip the Southbound platform at Kamuning Station.

During these scheduled closure periods, EDSA Busway commuters who normally use the Kamuning Station are advised to utilize adjacent stations for boarding and alighting:

  • Quezon Avenue Busway Station
  • Nepa Q-Mart Busway Station

Bus operators have been directed to re-route accordingly during the specified hours to ensure the continuous movement of the EDSA Busway system.

The new Kamuning Footbridge is a vital infrastructure project aimed at significantly improving pedestrian safety, accessibility, and connectivity for thousands of commuters daily.

Commuters are urged to plan their early morning trips accordingly during the closure windows and to follow guidance from on-site traffic personnel.
