Bayfront Capital Advisors, a leading independent corporate finance advisory firm, announced the appointment of Manuel “Mike” Banayad as its President. This key leadership move reinforces Bayfront’s capabilities as it expands its advisory role in supporting mid-market, family-owned, and top-tier Philippine companies in accessing institutional capital for significant growth and expansion.
Mr. Banayad brings more than 35 years of distinguished experience across the banking and investment banking sectors. His expertise encompasses critical areas including debt syndication, project finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and capital markets fundraising. His extensive professional background across major Private and Government financial institutions is expected to further solidify Bayfront’s reputation as a trusted partner in executing complex financing and advisory transactions.
Before joining Bayfront, Mr. Banayad held significant leadership positions in both the private and public sectors. He was the former President and CEO at PNB Capital and Investment Corporation, where he successfully spearheaded major capital raising activities for top Philippine corporations. He also served as Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets at both the Investment & Capital Corp. of the Philippines (ICCP) and Maybank ATR Kim Eng Capital Partners. During these tenures, he managed and led numerous award-winning syndicated debt and project finance transactions.
Furthermore, Mr. Banayad’s career began at the Development Bank of the Philippines, where he dedicated 16 years to driving development lending and project finance initiatives for the country’s crucial infrastructure projects. Most recently, he served the nation as Director IV at the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines, heading the Project Development and Monitoring Facility Service (PDMF), which provides technical and financial assistance for local and national PPP projects.
Mr. Banayad also previously served as a Board of Director at the Investment House Association of the Philippines (IHAP). His appointment is effective immediately.
