The Lucio Tan Group (LTG) has activated immediate and substantial relief operations through its key subsidiaries, Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Asia Brewery, Inc. (ABI), to assist communities in Cebu and neighboring provinces severely impacted by Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi).
The concerted effort aims to deliver critical supplies and necessary aid to displaced residents and communities experiencing loss of power and safe drinking water.
Philippine Airlines is spearheading the logistical response by actively airlifting essential relief goods to Cebu and other severely affected areas. PAL is coordinating closely with various government agencies, humanitarian organizations, and private donors to expedite the movement of supplies. Shipments are being accommodated on available cargo space and processed on a first-come, first-served basis, prioritizing the rapid delivery of aid.
Simultaneously, Asia Brewery, Inc. has mobilized to address the critical need for safe drinking water. The company is donating 3,000 six-liter containers of bottled water, providing immediate access to clean water for affected families. ABI is coordinating the systematic distribution of these supplies with local government units (LGUs) and partner non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on the ground.
“The entire Lucio Tan Group stands firmly in solidarity with the people of Cebu and the surrounding provinces facing immense hardship following Typhoon Tino,” stated an LTG representative. “Our commitment goes beyond these initial emergency shipments. We are dedicated to extending continued support in the crucial days and weeks ahead to ensure these communities receive the assistance necessary for recovery.”
