PPA announces scheduled system downtime for critical database upgrade

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), through its Information and Communications Technology Department (ICTD), today announced a planned system downtime to implement a critical Oracle Database Upgrade. This essential maintenance is part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to enhance the efficiency, security, and reliability of its information systems.

The scheduled downtime will temporarily affect Electronic Official Receipt (EOR) transactions processed through the systems of both ICTSI and ATI.

Scheduled Downtime Dates and Times:

The upgrade will be conducted during two non-consecutive weekends to minimize disruption to port operations:

  1. First Weekend: Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:01 AM through Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
  2. Second Weekend: Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 12:01 AM through Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

Impact on Stakeholders:

During the specified windows, stakeholders engaging with ICTSI and ATI will not be able to generate PPA Official Receipts, as transactions will not be processed in the central PPA system in real-time.

All transactions conducted during the downtime will be securely captured and temporarily stored in designated staging tables. These staged transactions will be fully processed and reconciled in the PPA system immediately upon restoration of services at the conclusion of each upgrade window.

Commitment to Efficiency and Security:

The ICTD underscores that this comprehensive system upgrade is a crucial step in the ongoing implementation of system enhancement measures. The new infrastructure will ensure more robust, reliable, and secure operations, ultimately supporting the PPA’s mandate for seamless port administration.

The PPA apologizes for any inconvenience this critical system upgrade may cause and asks for the patience and understanding of all affected clients and stakeholders.

For any urgent inquiries or clarifications regarding the scheduled downtime, please contact the PPA Information and Communications Technology Department directly.
