The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) successfully commenced its first-ever Business Development Workshop on Wednesday, November 12, at the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) in Pasay City. The event marks a significant organizational step toward enhancing the commercial and operational efficiency of CAAP-managed airports nationwide.
The workshop provided comprehensive training focused on strengthening airport concession management practices. Key objectives included an in-depth discussion on the second edition of the CAAP Concession Manual, addressing critical concerns in existing concession management, and ensuring complete alignment with the Authority’s standards and guidelines across all CAAP Area Centers.
CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario emphasized that the initiative is part of the Authority’s continuing efforts to enhance its business systems and promote operational efficiency.
“This reflects our shared commitment to make the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines a dynamic and self-sustaining organization, not just a regulator and service institution,” said Lt. Gen. Del Rosario.
The event also served as a vital venue for open dialogue among CAAP leaders and Airport Concessions-in-Charge, fostering stronger collaboration and consistency in nationwide concession management practices.
CAAP remains committed to establishing a more strategic and sustainable business framework that actively supports the growth of the Philippine aviation sector, in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Acting Transport Secretary Giovanni Lopez.
