Philippine spirits shine at 2025 Taiwan Wine & Spirits Festival, eyeing Taiwan’s gourmet market

Led by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Taipei and the DTI Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), the Philippine delegation successfully showcased its premium alcoholic beverages and innovative flavors to Taiwanese and regional buyers.

Running concurrently with major events like the Taiwan International Coffee Show and Food Industry Show, the Philippine Pavilion presented a curated selection of world-class spirits. The lineup featured premium rum, gin, and whiskey, alongside innovative liqueurs that stood out, particularly those with distinct Filipino infusions such as Ube and Calamansi.

The pavilion was a hub of activity, featuring guided tastings and live mixing demonstrations. These sessions creatively paired the unique spirits with tropical Filipino gourmet snacks, including Kangkong Chips and artisanal fish crackers. This food-and-drink combination successfully highlighted ideal pairings, generating significant interest from Taiwanese importers and regional buyers keen on emerging gourmet trends.

This initiative is a core component of MECO|PTIC Taipei’s Integrated Trade Promotion Program. The program is designed to support the diversification of Philippine exports, strengthen the sectoral branding of Filipino products, and expand market opportunities for Philippine Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Taiwan.

“The positive reception to our distinct Ube and Calamansi liqueurs, and our premium rums and gins, demonstrates the global appeal of Filipino innovation and quality,” said a representative from the PTIC-Taipei. “With every sip and bite, the Philippines continues to shine as a vibrant, creative, and culturally distinctive source of exceptional flavors for the global market.”
