The Department of Tourism (DOT) officially welcomed the inaugural Perth-Manila flight of Jetstar Airways on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. This new direct route is set to significantly enhance connectivity between Australia and the Philippines, reinforcing the country’s position as a prime travel destination.
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco emphasized the importance of this new flight in growing the Australian market.
“This flight represents more than just travel; it symbolizes our commitment to offer opportunities for tourism and business, making it easier for travelers to fly to Manila and further connecting the Philippines to the world,” the Tourism Chief stated. “We are thrilled to welcome Jetstar’s maiden flight from Perth, which will undoubtedly boost our country’s connectivity and encourage more of our Australian friends to visit the beautiful Philippines.”
Australia currently stands as the fifth-highest source market for international visitors, with 299,286 passenger arrivals recorded in 2024. The addition of the Perth-Manila service is anticipated to further increase this number, driving tourism receipts and supporting local communities.
The inaugural flight, carrying 169 passengers, was welcomed with vibrant Filipino cultural performances at the airport terminal, setting a festive tone for the new air link.
The low-cost carrier will operate the Perth-Manila route three times a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
