BOC strengthens revenue collection and operational efficiency at 4th collectors’ conference

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) successfully concluded its recent 4th Collectors’ Conference, gathering key officials from across the nation’s collection districts to review significant operational milestones, assess ongoing initiatives, and forge stronger coordination in line with the agency’s commitment to enhanced revenue generation and public service.

Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno led the comprehensive discussions, which focused on the progress of priority directives issued during the previous conference, a detailed review of collection performance, and updates on the latest assessment evaluation report.

The conference served as a vital platform for BOC officials to receive updates on crucial operational enhancements, including:

Enhanced Monitoring Tools: Implementing cutting-edge technology to improve surveillance and real-time tracking of import and export processes.

Auction Activities: Streamlining and optimizing public bidding processes for forfeited and abandoned goods to maximize revenue collection.

Donation and Condemnation Procedures: Ensuring transparent and efficient processes for the disposition of seized or unwanted goods in compliance with legal mandates.

In a highlight of the conference, Commissioner Nepomuceno and the BOC leadership recognized several ports for their exemplary efforts in meeting and surpassing their revenue goals.

The following ports were lauded for achieving their revenue targets for October:

Port of Aparri

Port of Clark

Port of Legazpi

Port of San Fernando

Port of Cebu

Port of Batangas

Port of Limay

This recognition underscores the dedication of the respective port personnel and their significant contribution to the national economy.

In his closing remarks, Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno reaffirmed the critical role of every customs official in achieving the Bureau’s mandates.

“Maintaining consistent performance and upholding the highest standards of public service are non-negotiable pillars of our mission,” Commissioner Nepomuceno stated. “The sustained dedication and professionalism demonstrated across all our ports remain essential in advancing the Bureau’s goals, ensuring we carry out our duties efficiently and responsibly for the benefit of the Filipino people.”

The successful Collectors’ Conference reinforces the BOC’s strategic direction to modernize its processes, enhance revenue collection, and solidify its position as a key driver of national economic growth and border security.
