The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced extended operating hours for the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) to accommodate late-night commuters, workers, and Christmas shoppers during the peak holiday season, following a directive from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The extended service will run from December 9 to December 30, 2025, ensuring more passengers are serviced throughout the Christmas rush.
“President Marcos Jr. has instructed us to ensure that we service a greater number of passengers this Christmas season,” said Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez. “We guarantee our passengers that despite the extended service hours, our thorough maintenance and safety routines on the trains and tracks will remain strictly in place.”
The LRT-2 will implement a one-hour extension, including on Christmas Day, December 25:
