Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad), the largest private water concessionaire in the country, will implement an adjustment to its average basic water charge effective January 1, 2026.
The adjustment, amounting to Php1.46 per cubic meter, will bring the average basic water charge to Php52.86 per cubic meter.
This change is in line with the recommendation of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System – Regulatory Office (MWSS-RO) under Resolution No.
2025-14-CA dated November 24, 2025, and has been approved by the MWSS Board of Trustees under Resolution No. 2025-177-RO dated December 4, 2025.
The new rates include a Rate Adjustment Limit (RAL) of 2.85% applied to the existing Basic Charge.
Additionally, the new water and sewer rates will include the following:
Environmental Charge (EC): 25% of the Water Charge.
Sewerage Charge (SC): 0% of the Water Charge for Residential and Semi-Business customers; 20% for Business Group I and II customers.
Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA): -0.42% of the Water Charge for the first quarter of 2026.
Low-income lifeline customers consuming 20 cubic meters or less will be exempt from FCDA.
Government Tax: 2% plus the actual local franchise tax applied to all charges.
The new rates will apply to Maynilad customers in the West Zone of the Greater Manila Area, which includes the cities of Manila (excluding portions of San Andres and Sta. Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, and northern areas like Holy Spirit and Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Las Piñas, Malabon, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, and Valenzuela in Metro Manila, as well as Cavite City, Bacoor, Imus, and the municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario in Cavite Province.
