STARLUX Airlines reestablishes daily Taipei-Manila service, strengthening Southeast Asian connectivity

STARLUX Airlines has resumed its daily nonstop service between Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL). Reintroduced on December 16, the route marks a significant milestone in the airline’s strategic expansion, bringing its total Philippine operations to 23 weekly flights.

The daily service is operated by STARLUX’s state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft, configured in a two-class layout. Passengers can enjoy a premium boutique experience, featuring cutting-edge in-flight entertainment, high-speed Wi-Fi, and gourmet dining, even on short-haul routes.

The flight schedule is optimized for both business and leisure travelers:

  • Taipei (TPE) to Manila (MNL): Morning departures allow for a full day of productivity or exploration upon arrival.

  • Manila (MNL) to Taipei (TPE): Midday returns offer convenient connections to STARLUX’s growing long-haul network to North America and other Asian destinations.

With the addition of Manila, STARLUX now serves three major gateways in the Philippines, including Cebu and Clark. This “triple-threat” network is designed to provide maximum flexibility, allowing passengers to book multi-city itineraries—such as flying into Manila and departing from Cebu—without redundant travel.

“The return to Manila is a vital piece of our Southeast Asian puzzle,” a STARLUX spokesperson stated. “By integrating Manila with our existing Clark and Cebu routes, we are offering a level of flexibility and premium service that meets the diverse needs of modern travelers in the region.”

The decision to resume daily service is backed by powerful economic and social indicators:

  • Labor & Community: Taiwan is home to over 160,000 Filipino workers; this route provides a reliable, high-quality link for families and professionals.

  • Trade Relations: The Philippines remains a Top 20 trading partner for Taiwan, necessitating consistent, daily belly-hold cargo capacity and business travel.

  • Tourism Synergy: With mutual 14-day visa-free entry, the route capitalizes on a surging demand for “revenge travel” and weekend getaways between the two capitals.
