Dyna Drug shifts to Renewable Energy with First Gen

Dyna Drug Corporation (Dyna Drug), a leading wholesaler, distributor, and importer of pharmaceutical, consumer, and allied products in the Philippines, seals its partnership with First Gen Corporation (First Gen), the country’s leading renewable energy (RE) company, to power the company’s warehouse facilities with direct supply of geothermal power.

Under the agreement between the two companies, which took effect on November 26, 2025, First Gen will supply at least 145 kilowatts (kW) of geothermal energy to support the logistics, storage and distribution operations of Dyna Drug’s state-of-the-art facilities in Pasig and Quezon City. The RE will be sourced from the Bacon-Manito geothermal power plant in Bicol, owned and operated by First Gen subsidiary Energy Development Corporation.

“Their strong commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with Dyna’s DNA of values and goals.  Transitioning to more sustainable solutions for our operations and minimize our environmental footprint is our bold vision with tangible actions to improve the ecosystem,” said Dyna Drug President Jacinto Dy.

Founded in 1915 initially as a grocery store, Dyna Drug shifted its business and became one of the pioneers of wholesaling pharmaceutical products in the Philippines. Today, the company is the preferred distributor and wholesaler of over 3,000 retail drugstores nationwide.

“It is our privilege to support Dyna Drug in achieving their sustainability goals. The sensitive nature of the products they handle requires stable supply of 24/7 RE for its warehouse operations, which geothermal power is well-suited for. We are committed to deepening our partnership with Dyna Drug as they continue their decarbonization journey,” said First Gen Chief Customer Engagement Officer Carlo Vega.

First Gen has gained recognition for its experience and expertise in operating this diverse portfolio of power platforms, which contribute to the Philippines’ energy security and efforts to transition to renewable energy. The leading producer of RE in the country has over 1,700 megawatts combined RE capacity in a portfolio of geothermal, hydro, wind and solar facilities spread around the country.
