As the Christmas and New Year travel season approaches, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is preparing for a significant surge in passenger volume. To ensure a seamless and stress-free journey for all travelers, the flag carrier has released a comprehensive set of guidelines and reminders for the holiday peak.
“Our goal is to get our passengers to their loved ones as safely and efficiently as possible,” said a PAL spokesperson. “With the expected crowds, we encourage everyone to utilize our digital tools and arrive at the airport well ahead of schedule.”
To avoid long queues at the airport, PAL strongly advises passengers to use the following digital services:
-
Web and Mobile Check-in: Skip the lines by checking in via the PAL website or the PAL mobile app. Online check-in is available from 24 hours up to 1 hour before your flight.
-
Real-Time Flight Status: Stay informed by checking the “Flight Status” tab on the website. Updates are available starting two days before departure.
Heavy traffic is expected in major hubs like Manila and Cebu. Travelers are urged to “hit the road earlier” and adhere to the following terminal arrival windows:
-
Domestic Flights (NAIA Terminal 2): Arrive 2 to 3 hours before departure.
-
International Flights (NAIA Terminal 1): Arrive 4 hours before departure.
Passengers should also verify their Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) based on their booking class to avoid additional fees and ensure all items are properly declared during check-in.
For those flying abroad, PAL emphasizes the importance of document readiness:
-
Passport Validity: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your travel date.
-
Name Matching: The name on your ticket must exactly match the name on your passport.
-
eTravel Registration: All departing Filipino travelers must complete the E-Travel registration within 72 hours prior to departure, as mandated by the Philippine government.
-
Entry Requirements: Double-check required visas, permits, and vaccination records specific to your destination.
