Cebu Landmasters and Archdiocese of Cebu unveil the revitalized Patria de Cebu

Leading VisMin developer Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI), in partnership with the Archdiocese of Cebu, officially announced the opening of the newly developed Patria de Cebu. Located on P. Burgos Street, this 21,000-square-meter integrated development breathes new life into one of the city’s most storied locations, blending historical preservation with modern urban convenience.

The revitalized Patria de Cebu retains the site’s iconic original structure while introducing a design inspired by Filipino-Spanish architecture. At its heart lies an interior courtyard and open-air facade reminiscent of Roman plazas, designed to serve as a community gathering point directly across from the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. “Patria de Cebu is our way of honoring Cebu’s rich heritage and the unwavering faith of Cebuanos,” said Jose Soberano III, CLI Chairman and CEO. “We thoughtfully designed it to preserve its legacy and bring new life to the area for the community.”

The mixed-use complex is designed to be a hub for tourism, business, and local lifestyle:

  • Retail & Dining: 4,320 square meters of retail space featuring essential services, wellness centers, and diverse F&B concepts. Several outlets are now open to the public just in time for the Sinulog festivities.

  • Office Spaces: 4,400 square meters of premium office provincial space, slated to open later this year.

  • International Hospitality: The development will house Mercure Cebu Downtown, CLI’s first international hotel in the downtown district. Operated by the world-renowned Accor group, the hotel will add 182 rooms to CLI’s portfolio when it opens at the end of 2026.

Even prior to its completion, the project gained national recognition, winning the Best Mega Mixed-Use Development at the 2021 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards. The development stands as a testament to CLI’s commitment to “Master-planned” communities that respect the local culture.

As Cebu prepares for the annual Sinulog celebrations, visitors and locals are invited to explore the newly opened retail and food concepts. Patria de Cebu is positioned to once again become the “soul” of downtown Cebu, bridging the gap between the city’s historic past and its dynamic future.
