The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is allocating an additional PHP450 million this year to speed up the construction and completion of the Davao International Airport expansion project.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said as he inspected the ongoing construction works at the airport, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2027. So far, the expansion project is already 30 percent complete.
Lopez also cited the quick installation by the CAAP of the three chillers, ensuring comfort for passengers. Passengers had been complaining of poor airconditioning system at the city’s international airport.
The DOTr chief also inspected the Airmen Examination Center in Davao City, which establishment was meant to bring CAAP services closer to the Mindanao stakeholders.
