The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the country’s leading logistics provider 2GO recently sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the establishment of the Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC) in a major step forward toward creating a seamless, efficient and competitive logistics sector.
The MOU was signed by DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque and 2GO CFO and COO William Howell. 2Go CEO Frederic DyBuncio attended the MOU signing on Friday, January 21, at the 2Go Headquarters.
The agreement integrates 2GO into DTI’s official “go-to” logistics network, enhancing Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC) services to tackle high transport costs, unreliable providers, and supply chain gaps for MSMEs.
Secretary Roque envisions an even stronger alliance between the DTI and key logistics players like 2GO Group, Inc., to supercharge businesses from large and extra large ones, given its bulk moving capabilities; to even small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the Philippines’ 7,600-plus islands.
Trade and Industry Chief emphasized, “Moving products across a nation of over 7,600 islands is a massive undertaking, and a partnership between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and 2GO Group, Inc. will ensure goods travel seamlessly from Point A to Point B.” She also noted that “in an archipelagic setting, the role of logistics providers is vital to bridging the gap from Region I to Region XVIII.”
“Access is the key word here,” Secretary Roque stressed. “Through the SCLC, we’re giving MSMEs clear lens to see the market.” She added that the partnership aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.‘s push to grow MSMEs nationwide: “This is DTI’s clear vision—we build the platform, open the doors, and empower businesses to choose their path.”
Under the MOU, 2GO will join business-matching events, market linkages, and Logistics Support Desks in Negosyo Centers nationwide. These desks will offer entrepreneurs hands-on help to optimize distribution. DTI will provide coordination and SCLC platform access to foster seamless public-private collaboration.
Building on a June 2025 Pledge of Commitment, the deal formalizes 2GO’s role in routine operations and crisis response, ensuring goods flow during calamities. As a DTI-SCLG flagship, SCLC delivers logistics data, advisory services, and linkages for a resilient Philippine supply chain.
