Travel advisory: Suspension of maritime operations due to Typhoon Basyang

To prioritize the safety of all passengers and vessel crews, FastCat’s maritime operations for several key routes have been temporarily suspended effective immediately. This decision comes as a proactive response to the deteriorating weather conditions and sea swells caused by Typhoon Basyang.

The suspension is aligned with safety protocols and the directives of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). All scheduled trips on the following routes are cancelled until further notice:

Affected Routes (Vice Versa)
  • Bulalacao – Caticlan

  • Dumangas – Banago

  • Dumaguete – Dapitan

  • San Carlos – Toledo

  • Cebu – Tubigon

  • Zamboanga – Basilan

Operation resumes will be contingent upon improved weather conditions and the formal issuance of travel clearance by the PCG. Our technical teams are monitoring the typhoon’s trajectory and sea state hourly to ensure that service only restarts when a safe and comfortable journey can be guaranteed.

FastCat apologized for the disruption to your travel plans. Passengers holding tickets for the affected dates are advised of the following:

  1. Rebooking: Tickets may be rebooked for future dates once operations resume, with all rebooking fees waived.

  2. Refunds: Full refunds are available for passengers who choose not to reschedule.

  3. Stay Informed: Please refrain from proceeding to the ports to avoid congestion and ensure your personal safety during the storm. “Our absolute priority is the sanctity of life at sea. While we understand the inconvenience this causes our travelers, we cannot compromise on safety during severe weather events.”
