FAST Logistics Group, the Philippines’ leading end-to-end logistics solutions provider, is urging industry leaders to move beyond legacy in-house systems to meet the demands of an increasingly complex global supply chain.
Speaking at the 2026 Transport Summit, hosted by the Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP) Visayas Chapter, FAST Chief Information Officer Leo Sacamos Jr. detailed how even robust internal platforms eventually hit a “scaling ceiling.”
For years, FAST relied on a proprietary Transport Management System (TMS). However, as the company scaled to manage the nation’s largest transport network—comprising over 3,100 fleet units and 900 truck partners—the limitations of legacy design became apparent. “For many organizations, in-house systems begin as a source of pride,” Sacamos noted. “Our TMS served us well, but it wasn’t built to scale or adapt indefinitely. Teams eventually find themselves forced into workarounds that rely too heavily on internal tribal knowledge rather than agile, automated processes.”
To solve this, FAST recently partnered with global logistics leader FarEye. This transition to an AI-powered platform is designed to simplify large-scale operations and significantly elevate the customer experience.
By integrating FarEye’s intelligent logistics platform, FAST is achieving several critical operational milestones:
-
Dynamic Route Optimization: Reducing fuel consumption and idle time.
-
Real-Time Visibility: Providing customers with precise shipment tracking and electronic proof of delivery (ePOD).
-
Operational Resilience: Enabling real-time adjustments to routes and schedules to maintain reliability.
-
Empowered Frontline Teams: Shifting personnel away from “firefighting” toward high-value decision-making.
With a customer base of approximately 300 enterprises nationwide, FAST views this technological leap as a necessity rather than a luxury. Sacamos emphasized that technology must serve the people using it. “When systems are intuitive and integrated, our teams can focus on delivering excellence rather than managing system limitations,” he said.
The 2026 Transport Summit served as a pivotal forum for logistics and supply chain leaders to discuss the evolving role of technology in the Philippines. As a primary sponsor of the event, FAST Logistics Group continues to lead the conversation on digital transformation within the region.
