The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) today announced the establishment of the Supply Chain and Logistics Guild (SCLG Consultancy), a group of 33 seasoned industry practitioners representing the full spectrum of end-to-end logistics domains.
The initiative aims to ensure that reforms in the sector are grounded in real operational conditions and translate into improved supply chains across all industries, Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque.
The SCLG Consultancy will serve as a private sector-led advisory body of industry veterans who provide pro bono technical support to help MSMEs optimize their delivery routes and reduce overhead.
Guild members come from global express companies, major shipping lines and freight forwarders, national retailers, cold chain operators, warehousing providers, customs compliance firms, manufacturing companies, financing institutions, last-mile logistics providers, and professional logistics associations.
This structure encompasses the full range of end-to-end logistics domains, ensuring that reforms are firmly grounded in real-world operational conditions across food, retail, manufacturing, export, and e-commerce supply chains.
In addition, the DTI’s Supply Chain and Logistics Group (SCLG) spearheaded by Undersecretary Jean Pacheco has expanded its roster of private sector partners under the Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC).
Eleven new members have been sworn including: the Association of International Shipping Lines (AISL), Fintech Alliance PH, GO21 Inc., In-line Logistics, J&T Express, JRS Business Corp., PASIA, Mober Philippines, the Philippine Chamber of Customs Brokers, PEMAP, Shopee Xpress, Toyota Motor Philippines, and Victory Liner.
The SCLC, also launched on June 18, 2025, serves as a national platform to address logistics and supply chain concerns of micro, small, and medium enterprises across the country. It has an original list of 18 players in the logistics and supply chain sector.
Its objective is to lower logistics costs, improve connectivity, and make logistics services more accessible to MSMEs by providing real-time assistance, service referrals, logistics cost information, and regulatory guidance through a dedicated hotline and the online portal supplychainlogistics.dti.gov.ph.
Secretary Roque said that central to the new agreements is the mobilization of private fleets during national emergencies. By partnering with land transport leaders such as Toyota Motor Philippines and Victory Liner, alongside green logistics provider Mober, the DTI aims to ensure that the movement of food, medicine, and relief goods does not come to a halt when calamities strike.
“Logistics is a vital pillar of our national resilience. By integrating these industry leaders into our network, we are ensuring that essential supply chains remain operational even under challenging conditions. Our goal is to create a secure movement of goods that protects both our businesses and the Filipino consumers they serve,” Secretary Roque stated.
As Philippine exports continue to grow, Roque said the DTI is ensuring that local logistics capabilities keep pace with international demand.
The inclusion of the Association of International Shipping Lines (AISL) and the Philippine Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. is intended to help bridge the gap between local production and global markets.
