Collins Aerospace, a member of US-based giant aerospace conglomerate RTX Corporation, is expanding its footprint at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Tanauan City in Batangas.
The expansion was formalized with the signing of a new agreement with FPIP on January 8, 2026. Collins did not divulge the investment but said the expansion will add 7,846 square meters to Collins Aerospace’s facility at the FPIP, enabling it to improve its operational efficiency, increase production output and meet rising demand in the aerospace sector. The new facility is set to open in the third quarter of 2026.
Collins Aerospace manufactures high-quality airplane cabin interior products, including galleys, galley inserts, lavatories, and seating. Collins recently made another mark on the global stage by manufacturing new economy class seats for the newly refurbished Philippine Airlines Airbus A321ceo fleet.
“FPIP has been instrumental as Collins has incrementally grown its Philippine-based operations, capabilities and expertise since 2012,” said Mary DeStaffan, general manager of Collins Aerospace’s Philippine campus. “This growth is critical for Collins to best support the rapidly growing aviation industry in-country and region, as well as airliners and airframers around the globe.”
“This expansion marks a major milestone for both Collins Aerospace and FPIP. It not only reflects the growing demand for advanced aerospace manufacturing in the country. It also highlights FPIP’s ability to support companies like Collins Aerospace in growing operations while generating employment for Filipinos,” said Yutaro Kuryu, FPIP senior vice president and head of industrial business group.
He added: “This is not just about having a bigger space or bigger operations. It is about the impact they are helping the Philippines make in the global aerospace industry, and more importantly, the opportunities they are making for the Filipino workforce. Rest assured, we will continue to support them in every way we can.”
FPIP is a 600-hectare industrial park developed in 1996 through a joint venture between First Philippine Holdings Corporation and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation. It is home to more than 150 world-class locators and employs nearly 80,000 employees. It provides industrial space, ready-built factories, commercial spaces, and office facilities, making it a hub for skilled Filipino talent and international manufacturing.
RTX is the world’s largest aerospace and defense company. It supports the aviation industry, delivers defense solutions, and develops advanced technologies and manufacturing capabilities for customers worldwide through its three industry-leading businesses: Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon.
