Victory Liner boosts cargo bus capacity for MSMEs

Victory Liner Inc., the country’s leading passenger bus transportation company, said it continues to expand its logistics footprint by adding more “Drop & Go” outlets annually, increasing cargo throughput for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the provinces.

Alvin Alvarado, operations manager at Victory Liner, told reporters during an event organized by the Supply Chain and Logistics Group that the company began reconfiguring part of its fleet five years ago. To date, 41 passenger buses have been converted into dedicated cargo buses to handle rising shipment volumes, particularly from MSME clients.

In addition to these cargo units, the company’s 1,400-strong passenger fleet is equipped with underfloor cargo holds, enabling belly cargo operations for time-sensitive shipments such as pharmaceuticals and passengers’ commercial merchandise.

Drop & Go is Victory Liner’s dedicated freight and logistics service offering fast, secure, and cost-efficient next-day, branch-to-branch delivery nationwide. Positioned as a no-frills, terminal-based service, shippers drop off and pick up parcels at designated outlets. The service follows a store-to-store distribution model through the company’s branch network.

Growth in cargo volume is being driven not only by individual consignors but also by e-commerce platforms and interline partnerships with delivery firms such as J&T Express and 2GO, as well as provincial bus operators including Ceres Liner for the Visayas and Mindanao routes and Isarog Bus for the Bicol region.

To date, Alvarado said, Victory Liner operates 111 branches, with its major hubs located within Victory Liner terminals.

This month alone, the company opened four new outlets in Zambales (Masinloc), Pangasinan (Mangatarem), and Dinalupihan, Pampanga. Additional applications are being processed for prospective partners in Southern Luzon and other parts of the country.

These outlets operate as drop-off agents under a commission-based scheme, earning per shipment handled. The company has also established dedicated sorting and consolidation facilities, including a key hub in Caloocan, to support line-haul efficiency and network distribution.
