Toyota Group in PH exported a total of USD3.83 B worth of auto parts since 1992

Toyota AISIN Philippines, Inc., formerly Toyota Autoparts Philippines, Inc., the autoparts export arm of the Toyota Group in the Philippines, has generated a total of USD3.83 billion worth of exports since it started the business in 1992.

Masando Hashimoto, president of Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), said in his presentation at the 42nd Annual Joint Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Committees of the Philippines and Japan held Thursday in Manila, that through Aisin, the Toyota has been able to export to the world a total of 6 million units of transmission units worth USD3.83 billion.

“This country has also allowed Toyota Group to become more than a car assembly company. While we build an industrial base here, we also earn foreign currency for the nation. Through Toyota Aisin Philippines, the Philippines has integrated into the global Toyota supply chain,” Hashimoto said.

Highlighting the Filipino workforce as the country’s number one resource, Hashimoto said that TMP sustains a 4,500-strong workforce, whose craftsmanship ensures that every vehicle meets the global shipping quality standards year after year. TMP assembles Vios, Innova and Tamaraw at its special economic zone in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

TMP further expanded its manpower with its logistics facilities and in-house conversion for Tamaraw models, a first of its kind for Toyota global operation. This is where Filipino talents such as bodybuilding designers and conversion team members unite  to build a product which is engineered specifically for the Filipino people. By conversion, he means Filipinos being capable of building ambulances, police patrols, food trucks, emergency responses, race vehicles and many more.

The Japanese car brand is the country’s undisputed market leader cornering more than 40 percent market share in 2025 with over 2 million cumulative sales and 1.3 million units in operation on the road.

Globally, the Philippines is the top 10 market for Toyota with roughly 230,000 units sold.

To give back, Toyota has established the TMP School of Technology, a premier source of highly skilled dealer technicians. To date, roughly 200 TMP Tech graduates are deployed in Toyota and Hino dealerships across Japan.

“As an investor, I see this not just as a business achievement (16:45) but as a profound sign of trust and market openness allowing us to move the daily lives of Filipinos forward,” Hashimoto told both Japanese and Filipino businessmen at the joint PhilJECC meeting.
