Singapore — Globe reinforced its leadership in delivering reliable, high-quality, and future-ready connectivity for Filipinos during the Asian Telecom Summit 2026 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The summit, themed “Reinventing Asian Telecoms: Building the AI-Ready, Energy-Efficient, Multi-Network Digital Future,” brought together regional telecom executives and industry experts to explore next-generation networks, AI readiness, hybrid satellite-terrestrial solutions, private networks, and edge connectivity.
Speaking at the summit, Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz emphasized that connectivity in the Philippines is critical infrastructure. “In an archipelago of over 7,600 islands, exposed to typhoons, floods, earthquakes, and rapid urban growth, networks must perform reliably where and when people need them,” Cruz said. “Our guiding principles are resilience, inclusion, intelligence, and quality. Every decision we make is designed for real-world conditions.”
Globe continues to lead with a multi-network strategy, combining mobile, fiber, fixed wireless, and satellite solutions deployed where they create the most impact. A milestone in this approach is the Direct-to-Cell partnership with Starlink, the first in Southeast Asia, integrating low-earth orbit satellite technology into a national network. This expands coverage to remote and disaster-prone areas, ensuring critical services remain accessible when they matter most.
Quality of service and experience drives every investment. Globe’s low-latency, high-throughput, and redundant networks, combined with AI-driven monitoring and disaster-ready deployments like Network-in-a-Box and Cell-on-Wheels, ensure students can learn without interruptions, businesses operate reliably, and emergency responders communicate effectively. Network intelligence is further strengthened through APIs, with enterprises and developers leveraging Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform, Number Verification APIs, and platforms like Concati and M360, while initiatives like the Bridge Alliance API Exchange extend trusted capabilities across Asia.
Globe also empowers communities through programs like Bayanihan SIM and Alagang Globe, providing affordable connectivity, digital literacy, and livelihood opportunities. In Bulacan and Cotabato, beneficiaries gain access to DepEd TV, Khan Academy, GCash, and e-commerce platforms, ensuring digital inclusion drives education, entrepreneurship, and access to services even in remote areas.
“Technology alone is not enough,” Cruz concluded. “The future belongs to networks that adapt, endure, and deliver where people need them most. Globe is building that future for every Filipino, every community, every day.”
