Mapúa Education Group and Arizona State University expand partnership to revolutionize higher education

Mapúa Education Group and Arizona State University (ASU) announced a landmark expansion of their academic partnership, establishing the first and only comprehensive collaboration of its kind in the Philippines.

Formerly focused on business and health sciences, the partnership now extends to all undergraduate and graduate programs across the entire Mapúa system, including Mapúa University, Mapúa Malayan Colleges (Laguna and Mindanao), and Mapúa Malayan Digital College.

This collaboration bridges the Philippines’ top-ranked engineering and digital institution with America’s most innovative university. ASU has been ranked #1 in the U.S. for innovation for several consecutive years and sits in the top 10 worldwide for global impact in research and stewardship.

By integrating ASU’s world-class resources, Mapúa is setting a new benchmark for academic excellence and global employability in Southeast Asia.

Under this comprehensive agreement, every Mapúa student—regardless of their field of study—will benefit from three core pillars:

  1. World-Class Courseware: Direct access to ASU’s vast repository of top-ranked academic programs and instructional content.

  2. The ASU-Cintana Alliance: International exchange and networking opportunities with a global network of 35 forward-looking universities.

  3. Cost-Effective Global Pathways: Flexible options to earn international degrees through onsite and online pathways, including dual-degree and accelerated master’s programs.

The expanded partnership focuses on modernizing education through several key dimensions:

  • AI-Enabled Pedagogy: Extensive integration of Artificial Intelligence across all curricula, leveraging ASU’s leadership in digital learning to prepare students for tech-driven industries.

  • Industry-Aligned Curriculum: ASU’s innovation frameworks are embedded into Mapúa’s programs to ensure graduates meet the demands of emerging global markets.

  • Research & Faculty Exchange: Deepened collaboration between faculty members to enhance teaching excellence and boost research capabilities in the Philippines.

  • “This partnership represents a seismic shift in how we approach higher education in the Philippines,” said a representative of the Mapúa Education Group. “By making ASU’s world-class content accessible to every student in our system, we are truly globalizing the Filipino classroom.”
