Maersk announces operational contingency measures amid escalating regional conflict

A.P. Moller – Maersk is closely monitoring the escalating military conflict in the Middle East. As the situation evolves, Maersk is maintaining constant coordination with regional security partners to ensure the integrity of our operations.

“The safety of our people, our assets, and our customers’ cargo remains our singular priority. We are committed to taking all necessary actions to protect these interests while navigating this volatile period,” said Maersk.

Due to the developing security situation and in alignment with local government directives, customers should expect disruptions to services across the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar.

Effective Monday, March 02, 2026, Maersk will implement the following measures:

  • Warehouse Closures: All Maersk warehousing facilities in the UAE will be closed on Monday as a precautionary measure, following official government “shelter-in-place” guidance.

  • Office Status: Physical offices in the affected regions will remain closed to all but essential personnel until further notice.

  • Logistics Partners: Our airline and landside transportation partners are experiencing parallel disruptions, which may result in secondary delays for cargo moving through these hubs.

Maersk has officially activated its global contingency protocols to mitigate supply chain volatility. Its digital infrastructure remains fully operational, and its teams are working around the clock to reroute cargo and find alternative logistics solutions where possible. “We understand the concern these disruptions cause for global trade. Our focus is on maintaining visibility and agility. While physical locations may be limited, our digital and telephonic support channels remain 100% available to assist our customers in real-time.”

Maersk is committed to transparency and will provide frequent updates as the situation changes.
