Montenegro Shipping Lines, Inc. (MSLI), a leading provider of domestic maritime transport, has expanded its operations in Western Mindanao. Starting March 3, 2026, the company increased its trip frequency between Zamboanga City and Lamitan City to twice daily.
This strategic enhancement is a direct response to the surge in passenger demand and the growing volume of cargo traffic moving through this vital maritime corridor. By doubling its daily rotations, Montenegro Shipping Lines aims to bolster regional trade, support local tourism, and provide commuters with greater flexibility and convenience.
To ensure seamless connectivity, MSLI has established a morning and afternoon rotation for both ports:
| Route | Departure Times |
| Zamboanga to Lamitan | 9:00 AM |
| Lamitan to Zamboanga | 5:30 AM |
The M/V Reina Justisya remains the dedicated vessel for this route. Specifically designed for versatility, the vessel is equipped to handle a high volume of roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) freight—including essential goods and vehicles—while providing comfortable, safe, and efficient accommodations for passengers. “Our decision to increase frequency reflects our unwavering commitment to the people of Zamboanga and Basilan,” said a spokesperson for Montenegro Shipping Lines. “As the regional economy grows, MSLI is dedicated to ensuring that our sea lanes remain a reliable bridge for commerce and community connection.”
Passengers and logistics partners are encouraged to book in advance or visit the MSLI satellite office for ticketing and freight inquiries:
