At the recent European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Davao Community Connect, business leaders and stakeholders converged to map out the future of trade in the region.
FAST Logistics Group, the Philippines’ leading end-to-end logistics provider, took center stage to highlight how integrated supply chain solutions are the primary catalyst for scaling businesses across Mindanao.
Held at the Park Inn by Radisson Davao, the event featured ECCP Executive Director Florian Gottein and served as a high-level platform for ECCP member companies to foster partnerships and share insights on driving regional growth.
During the forum, Melvin Mendoza, FAST Business Development Manager for Mindanao, addressed the growing complexities of modern trade. He emphasized that the transition to integrated third-party (3PL) and fourth-party (4PL) logistics is no longer a luxury but a necessity for companies in the FMCG, retail, pharmaceutical, and automotive sectors.
“Reliable logistics enables companies to move goods faster, reduce operational costs, and improve delivery performance,” Mendoza stated. “By integrating multiple functions under a single provider, businesses eliminate coordination hurdles and maintain total visibility from origin to final delivery.”
A highlight of the presentation was the announcement that FAST is in the final stages of launching the FAST Logistics and Crossdock Mega Hub in Acacia, Indangan, Davao. This world-class facility is designed to be a cornerstone of regional trade:
-
Capacity: 18,608 square meters of leasable area and 13,840 pallet positions.
-
Location: Strategically situated 12km from Davao International Airport and 15km from the PPA/SASA Port.
-
Capabilities: Equipped to handle warehousing, transport, and toll manufacturing under one roof.
To combat global supply chain disruptions, Mendoza advocated for a forward stocking strategy. By positioning inventory closer to key Mindanao markets, FAST enables businesses to:
-
Reduce Lead Times: Get products to shelves faster.
-
Enhance Agility: Respond instantly to local demand fluctuations.
-
Minimize Risk: Buffer against transport bottlenecks and external shocks.
As Mindanao continues to thrive through developments in agriculture and manufacturing, FAST Logistics Group remains committed to providing the infrastructure and expertise necessary to transform these opportunities into sustainable economic reality.
