A total of 155 boat operators and 195 wooden-hulled boats benefited from a mobile registration activity conducted by the Maritime Industry Authority Regional Office VII (MARINA Region 7) in Barangay Okoy, Santa Fe, Bantayan Island from 9 to 14 March 2026.
The activity enabled 77 Boat Captain I and 78 Motormen to obtain their licenses, while 195 Wooden-Hulled Registered Boats (WHRBs) were issued certificates and franchises.
The program also delivered on-site registration services and Modified Basic Safety Training (MBST) for local boat operators and crew, bringing key maritime regulatory services directly to the island community.
MARINA Region 7 said the initiative aims to increase vessel registration, strengthen safety awareness, and support the professionalization of boat operators serving Bantayan Island’s local sea routes.
