LTFRB orders Regional Directors to facilitate updating, submission of e-wallet data for fuel subsidy distribution

In line with the instruction of President Ferdinand โ€œBongbongโ€ R. Marcos, Jr. to expedite the distribution of fuel subsidy, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), under the guidance of DOTr Secretary Giovanni โ€œBanoyโ€ Z. Lopez, encouraged drivers and operators to have an e-wallet account for fast and comfortable receipt of cash assistance.

And for those who have either no means to have an e-wallet or are not comfortable with such a mode of distribution, they could go to the scheduled distribution venues.

LTFRB Chairperson Vigor D. Mendoza II explained that the use of e-wallets is the fastest and most comfortable way of receiving the fuel subsidy since beneficiaries would no longer need to fall into long queues at distribution venues.

โ€œWe always wanted to provide the best service as instructed by the President and Secretary Banoy and on our part, the distribution through e-wallets is the best way to do it,โ€ said Chairperson Mendoza.

The LTFRB is currently undertaking preparatory activities for the implementation of the Fuel Subsidy Program intended to provide financial assistance to qualified public transport operators and drivers nationwide amid the serious effects of the Middle East tensions.

The agency already invited all qualified Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) to serve as Payment Channel Providers for the efficient, secure, and transparent distribution of fuel subsidy assistance to program beneficiaries. The distribution of the fuel subsidy already kicked off on Tuesday in Metro Manila, involving tricycle drivers.

Chairperson Mendoza said he already instructed all Regional Directors to facilitate the updating and submission of the data relative to the distribution of the fuel subsidy in their respective areas. He also instructed them to ensure that all concerns of the beneficiaries must be immediately addressed.

โ€œMas mapapabilis ang lahat ng proseso kung magtutulungan tayo. On the part of the government, we are exerting all the measures to facilitate the distribution process,โ€ said Chairperson Mendoza.
