Isuzu PH supports Philippine Army modernization, delivers 205 new trucks

Reinforcing its commitment to support the modernization of the Philippine Armed Forces, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), the country’s leading truck manufacturer, said it has delivered 205 new trucks to the Philippine Army.

Together with its dealers Isuzu Makati and Isuzu Tagum, formally turned over 205 trucks to the Philippine Army during a ceremonial event at Camp General Servillano A. Aquino, Tarlac City.

The fleet is composed of 117 Isuzu NPS and 88 Isuzu FTS trucks, all configured with troop carrier bodies designed for the safe, efficient, and reliable transport of military personnel, equipment, and essential cargo across various operational requirements, including disaster response and recovery missions.

The turnover ceremony was led by IPC Executive Vice President Yasuhiko Oyama, together with Major General Florante Piol Sison, Commander for Support Command of the Philippine Army, and other key officials.

“Isuzu has long been a trusted partner of various industries and institutions in the country, supporting mobility and progress. Today, we are honored to extend this role in contributing to national defense by providing vehicles that will support the Philippine Army in fulfilling its mission to serve and protect the Filipino people,” said Oyama.

With Philippine Army units deployed nationwide, these trucks are expected to significantly enhance mobility and readiness. Built on Isuzu’s proven reputation for durability and supported by a nationwide service network with readily available parts, the vehicles are designed to perform in demanding environments and sustain long-term operations in the field.

This latest turnover highlights IPC’s continued support for the Philippine Government’s fleet modernization efforts, providing transport solutions that are built for long-term use, ensuring reliability, durability, and operational efficiency for years to come.

As frontliners in national defense and disaster response, Isuzu noted that the Philippine Army requires transport solutions that deliver both durability and efficiency. The selected Isuzu trucks are engineered to meet these demanding requirements, ensuring dependable performance in diverse and challenging conditions, Oyama said.

Both the Isuzu NPS and FTS models are equipped with a 4×4 drivetrain, enabling troops to traverse rough, unpaved roads and mountainous terrain with greater confidence. This capability is particularly critical for operations in remote provincial areas, where accessibility can be limited and reliable transport is essential for mission success.

All units are fitted with troop carrier bodies built by F. Cura Industries, a long-standing body builder known for delivering high-quality, durable body configurations. These bodies are designed to withstand demanding operational use, ensuring safety, reliability, and longevity in operations.

Both NPS and FTS models are EURO IV compliant, reflecting Isuzu’s commitment to supporting environmentally responsible operations while meeting the evolving requirements of government fleet modernization.

Backed by Isuzu’s nationwide dealer network, Isuzu said the Philippine Army can rely on comprehensive aftersales support and access to genuine spare parts, helping ensure maximum vehicle uptime and sustained operational readiness.
