The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu maintained its upward momentum in March 2026, exceeding its assigned monthly target based on preliminary data. The Port collected a total of PHP4,342,166,104.52, surpassing PHP4,320,972,985.51 target.
This performance marks a significant 14.94 percent year-on-year increase, outperforming March 2025 by PHP564,296,602.93.
This strong monthly output capped off a successful opening quarter. The Port’s first quarter collection reached PHP12,357,646,083.63, surpassing the PHP11,970,460,834.76 target by PHP387,185,248.87 (3.23%). This also represents a steady 1.53 percent growth equivalent to an increase of PHP186,291,108.48 compared to the first quarter of the previous year.
This milestone marks the Port’s third consecutive month of exceeding its assigned monthly target for Fiscal Year 2026, and the fourth straight month of surpassing targets since December 2025. It also underscores the continued momentum of the Port under the leadership of District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad, driven by strengthened enforcement, improved processes, and sustained operational efficiency.
District Collector Lumontad emphasized the broader impact of the achievement, stating, “Every peso we collect represents more than revenue. It reflects disciplined governance, stronger compliance, and our responsibility to deliver resources that fund essential services for the Filipino people. Sustaining this performance shows that we are not only meeting targets, but strengthening the systems that make efficient, transparent, and accountable customs service possible.”
Aligned with the reform agenda of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, the Port of Cebu remains committed to sustaining revenue growth, facilitating legitimate trade, and strengthening border protection in line with its mandate of lawful revenue collection, trade facilitation, and national security.
