BOC surpasses mid-year targets, eyes ₱1 trillion milestone for 2026

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has demonstrated exceptional fiscal resilience, officially exceeding its revenue collection targets for both the month of June and the first half of 2026.

Under the leadership of Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, the agency generated ₱86.073 billion in June alone, reinforcing its critical role in funding the national development agenda under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

During a press briefing in Vancouver, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro highlighted that these impressive figures align directly with President Marcos’ directive to enhance revenue generation for the benefit of the Filipino people.

  • June 2026 Collections: Reached ₱86.073 billion, outperforming the monthly target by ₱2.853 billion.

  • Mid-Year Total (January – June 2026): Accumulated ₱491.748 billion, surpassing the semi-annual target by ₱11.478 billion.

  • Year-on-Year Growth: Posted a 7.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

(The Bureau of Customs has once again recorded a steady increase in revenue collection under the leadership of Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno… This is in line with the President’s directive to the BOC to continue efficient revenue collection to fund vital programs and projects that benefit the public).

The BOC attributes this sustained upward trajectory to a three-pronged strategic approach:

  1. Unified District Performance: Coordinated operational excellence across all 17 collection districts nationwide.

  2. Rigorous Border Security: Intensified law enforcement operations against smuggling and illicit trade.

  3. Digital Transformation: The continuous modernization and automation of customs systems and processes to improve efficiency and reduce transaction friction.

Looking ahead, the bureau remains firmly committed to maintaining this momentum as it targets a historic ₱1 trillion total collection by the end of 2026 to support the government’s priority socio-economic programs.
