eTAP enhances services on strong demand for motorcycle couriers

eTap Solutions, a multiple motorcycle rider-focused digital payment solutions provider, is enhancing financial accessibility and efficiency services for riders amid growing demand for motorcycle  couriers.

eTAP, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the country’s leading payment kiosk manufacturer Electronic Transfer & Advance Processing, Inc. (eTap), said the enhancement of its services is crucial for the country’s logistics and delivery ecosystem.

With over 4,000 active kiosks nationwide, eTap has seen more riders using its services for top-ups, bill payments, and remittances.

eTAP cited data from Fairwork Philippines, which showed there are over 40,000 Grab Food and Grab Express riders in the country, reflecting the surging demand for motorcycle couriers.

Meanwhile, 2024 data from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) revealed that 160,000 new motorcycles are registered in the Philippines every month—a number that hints at the continuous expansion of the country’s rider workforce.

According to eTap Solutions President and CEO Carlo Hernandez, riders of food delivery and logistics players are increasingly embracing digital payments, especially to remit their daily earnings. “Rider remittance has emerged as one of our machines’ most popular features, serving couriers from leading logistics and food delivery platforms like Shopee Xpress, Grab, and foodpanda,” he said.

Hernandez adds that remitting via eTap’s machines solves several rider pain points, such as having to wait in long lines and dealing with limited operating hours. He adds that the company operates an active Facebook group exclusively for riders, which now has over 3,500 members. Supported by eTap’s Customer Help Desk and Community Management teams, the group is a dedicated space for riders to engage, seek assistance, and stay updated on exclusive programs—including eTap’s loyalty campaigns rewarding their continued trust and usage.

Additionally, eTap Solutions has partnered with over 400 store partners including DALI, O!Save, Alfamart, AllDay, Generika, Julie’s Bakeshop, and more to bring financial services closer to where riders live and work.

“Riders are a growing demographic that payment solutions providers shouldn’t ignore,” said Hernandez. “That’s why we’re committed to developing secure, convenient, and accessible solutions that allow them to operate efficiently.”
