The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Head Office – Port Police Department successfully concluded its annual three-day security inspection from May 19 to 21, 2025. The thorough inspection covered the Philippine Ports Authority – PMO Misamis Occidental/Ozamiz, the Port of Plaridel, and the Port of Jimenez.
The inspection meticulously assessed all port police officers, security guards, and baggage screening personnel. This included a detailed examination of their firearms, security gear, and other essential equipment. The primary objective was to ensure strict adherence to existing security contracts, particularly regarding the proper provision and condition of necessary equipment.
This initiative also served as a crucial measure of the readiness and performance of contracted security agencies, ensuring their operations consistently meet the evolving security needs of both passengers and cargo. Beyond equipment checks, personnel adherence to safety regulations was also a key focus.
PPA said this annual inspection is a vital part of the Philippine Ports Authority’s mandate to regularly monitor service contracts and hold service providers accountable for their obligations. “With port traffic and cargo continuing to increase, maintaining a high level of vigilance and preparedness is more critical than ever,” PPA added.
Through these regular and comprehensive inspections, PPA PMO Misamis Occidental/Ozamiz remains committed to ensuring safe, orderly, and efficient port operations, upholding the highest standards of public service.
