2GO Travel to tentatively launch new Manila-Cebu-Siargao route

2GO Travel, the Philippines’ leading sea travel provider, is set to introduce a new and exciting liner service connecting Manila (North Harbor) to Cebu and Siargao, and vice versa. This highly anticipated route, tentatively scheduled to commence in October 2025, will be served by the M/V 2GO Masikap, one of the company’s modern M-Series vessels, according to the Philippine Ship Spotters Society (PSSS).

This new offering aims to provide travelers with a more scenic and enjoyable cruise-like experience, presenting a compelling alternative to air travel for those heading to Siargao, renowned as the country’s surfing and island party capital. The service will also connect the bustling capital of Manila with the central hub of Cebu.

A significant development accompanying this new route is the M/V 2GO Masikap’s planned docking at the newly constructed Jubang Cruise Port Terminal in Siargao. This larger and more accommodating facility will allow liner vessels like the M/V 2GO Masikap to dock directly, a capability not possible at the relatively smaller Dapa Port.

The M/V 2GO Masikap is a 2002-built ROPAX (Roll-on/Roll-off Passenger) liner from Japan, representing 2GO Travel’s new generation of acquired vessels. With an impressive length overall of 167 meters and a breadth of 26 meters, the vessel is powered by two Pielstick NKK Marine Diesel Engines, boasting a total power of 27,000 horsepower. This robust propulsion system enables a service speed of 19 to 21 knots, ensuring efficient and comfortable journeys.

While the introduction of this new route marks an exciting expansion for 2GO Travel and a new option for Philippine tourism, the vessel assignment and the exact start date remain tentative and are subject to change. Further announcements will be made as details are finalized.
