The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) announced they will co-host the 3rd Philippine Aviation Summit in 2025. The event aims to advance the Philippines’ role as a strategic hub for commercial and business aviation, leveraging the country’s strong economic performance and favorable demographics.
Aviation: A Key Driver of Economic Prosperity
The Philippines concluded 2024 with a robust 5.6% GDP growth rate, outperforming several other major Asian economies. This growth was fueled by the resumption of commercial activities and increased public infrastructure spending. Multilateral organizations are optimistic about the country’s economic outlook for 2025 and 2026, forecasting it to be one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies.
As an archipelago with a young population of over 114 million and a median age of 24.5, aviation is a critical economic engine for the Philippines. It facilitates trade, investment, tourism, and sustainable development by connecting the country’s more than 7,600 islands and providing a vital link to regional and global markets.
Summit to Address Future of Philippine Aviation
The upcoming summit will bring together local and international leaders, government officials, and global stakeholders to explore policies, business opportunities, and best practices essential for a globally competitive, sustainable, secure, and resilient aviation industry.
“The Philippine Aviation Summit 2025 is a crucial platform for collective action,” said a representative from the ECCP. “By bringing together key players, we can ensure the aviation sector continues to be a cornerstone of the nation’s economic success and a driver of its integration into the global economy.”
The summit agenda will focus on forward-looking strategies to capitalize on the country’s demographic dividend and sustained economic momentum.
