AirAsia Philippines cancels Tacloban flights due to Tropical Storm Opong (Bualoi)

AirAsia Philippines announced today the cancellation of all flights to and from Tacloban scheduled for September 25, 2025, due to the forecasted unfavorable weather conditions and potential risks associated with Tropical Storm Opong (international name: Bualoi).

The safety of guests and crew is AirAsia’s utmost priority, prompting the decision to cancel the affected flights.

Guest Notification and Service Recovery Options

AirAsia Philippines has already directly notified all affected guests regarding their flight status and the available service recovery options via email and SMS.

In light of this weather event, affected guests have the choice of the following options:

Move Flight: A one-time free date change within 30 days of the original departure date, on the same route within the AirAsia network, with no extra charge and subject to seat availability.

Credit Account: A credit valid for 730 days (2 years) from the date of issuance, which will be credited to the guest’s AirAsia member account for future travel.

Full Refund: A full refund is issued to the original form of payment.
